Hi all, I was wondering if this is an error or just PMD. Lincoln's mouth looks like he's spitting. I thought I ask the pros on their opinions. Thank you. Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
It's hard to tell from the photos. Die cracks are very common, but if it's a die crack, I'd keep it. You'll need to look closely at the metal to see if it is raised or scratched in. Raised means die crack.
Yeah I figured. After looking through thousands of quarters, looking for the horse that had the spitting action, thought the pennies might possibly have this type of variety. Thank you Sent from my SM-G930T using Tapatalk
I actually bought one cheap off eBay because I thought the spitting horse was funny. Collect what you like
1) take coin out of holder 2) take picture 3) put coin back. Pictures in holders are generally useless
Sure... 1969 S Cent was minted at the San Francisco Mint 1969 D Cent was minted at the Denver Mint 1969 with no mint mark was minted at the Philadelphia Mint this year, 2017, was the first time ever that the Philadelphia Mint used a P Mint Mark on Cents
Anywhere from face (one cent) to possibly into the six figures for a GENUINE high grade example of the 69-S DDO. However, chances are exceedingly small that any coin pulled from circulation will be valued above face, and said variety is exceptionally rare. If you wish to post photos, please do, but just don't get your hopes up.
Well, yes.... how else would we be able to see them? Simply use the "upload a file" button below, but like I said before, if found in circulation the chances of having anything of value are pretty much zero.
The "real McCoy" of what? Three 1969 cents from each of the three mints? I've no doubt you do as millions upon millions were minted and can still easily be found today. Again, the point was that even with having real coins, the chances of them being worth anything above face is at best slim to none. There's only a single exceedingly rare variety of the 69-S worth substantial premiums, and you've a better chance if willing the powerball twice than you do of finding a single example. That said, I'm trying to help you here, but will not continue with this back and forth. If you want a definitive answer, post photos.
