It is there, it is just very faint. I can see it in the pictures. Most likely a grease filled die that produced a bad strike in that area.
It's a spender. Being a pre '82 cent the actual copper value is about $0.025261. The no FG is not as big of a deal as sites like Youtube want you to believe. Missing FGs are common on well circulated cents. Welcome to CT and enjoy the hobby.
I've noticed you have asked about the worth of the few coins you have posted.. Are you looking to strike it rich?
No . I am retired and have been throwing my change in jugs for a long time . Being retired I got plenty of time to roll my coins to change into cash . Figure I should see if any of them are worth anything before I let the bank have them .
My wife said she saw that if it has a floating roof it was polished . No floating roof suppose to be worth a little more . Where she found that info I don't know but she googled it somewhere . This why people ask questions to find out .
Thank you . Too many people would rather be a smart a... comment instead of a good answer . I appreciate an honest answer . Thank you .
It is an Over polished or Over abraded Die issue. Sometimes the mint employer would clean or polish the Die during its usage a bit too much and the result would be known as the Missing FG and Floating Roof issue. Many seasoned collectors don't think there should be a premium for it since it is a common issue, and they are plentiful in circulation. There are many websites than can give incorrect information so be weary. I hope you find this answer as a wise ass one.
Great to find but kinda ordinary. I found about 10 in like 3 days when I started checking. Both kinds. I like the floating roof the best
