I have a 1969 D dime. Seems to be out of double struck or out of line. Also the 1969 seems to be doubled. I have several 1969 D dimes. This is the only one with this misprint/error. Please help. Need professional opinions.
Looks like a misaligned die or MAD. It's a very common Mint error so it has no extra value. Welcome to CT.
Two more things I noticed I just want to ask about. I'm new and willing to learn. Will take any advice. The 1969 seems to be doubled. And the I and the WE in In God We Trust are almost missing.
It appears like slight die deterioration which can occur with long term use of the die, spreading it very slightly over time. Notice how on the date and all of the lettering and even the mint mark , the part that appears doubled all face towards the center of the coin, as the die spreads from center to outside perimeter, and a normal hubbing in that era could not produce this effect. No DD, but interesting to study up close for you. IMO , Jim Sorry , forgot the 2nd part. The IGWT is too near the edge due to the MAD and the deterioration enhances it.
Thank you! Great help! I am trying g to learn as much and make this a new hobby. Need coin Friends! I also have a few other things to post. I have two 1969 S pennies. Also in great shape? Are they worth posting?
You can post anything you like. But it would be best to start a new thread with different coins so as not to confuse your original post above.
