Those dots are a part of the design, and those lines are circulation damage, not circulation wear. It looks like to me, anyway.
Oh, she meant in the denticles! Yeah, I think that's strange-looking. I hadn't ever noticed it, myself, anyway...
It should be beads around the edge on the obverse side and denticals on the reverse side. Being Canadian, I can't say I have ever seen this on any of my own. Nice find! Weird but nice.
Let us know what you find, the switch from beds to denticals is pretty odd. Maybe you have found a new variety. But it is probably due to a late die state.
There are dots on both sides. The reverse seems to have the normal circulation wear, but the the obverse has the lines and dots. I'm confused! Lol!! Paddy54, will try to get pictures.
http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php?coin=1-cent-1969&years=1-cent-1965-2015 Nothing here on the edge variety or anything that resembles it.. idk though looks interesting to me. https://www.numisbids.com/n.php?p=lot&sid=966&lot=31040 BUT 1969 is a date too look at within the ten cent ^^^
What I am seeing in the photos is similar to what some have called a Trail Die.. I call it improper die polishing. This same thing can be seen on early US Bust Halves with the stars.
Maybe something new. Denticles are hard though. I would immediately assume die wear but the nearly perfect circles are throwing me off.
