I have the tendency to weight all of my coins, regardless the date. For a 1967 penny the weight should normally be 3,11 gr (-/+ 0.130). Correct? I had my scale re-calibrated, just in case it was manual mistake. Still it came out 3.336. What is going on? Is that normal? Thank you for your time!
All were struck on the same size planchets, no difference between regular strike, sms and proof. That is very slightly overweight, might have been a slightly thick planchet.
Slightly overweight buy still within tolerance in my opinion. Also.. The small gunk next to the date and under the bust can add just a tad bit of weight.
I have two 1967 pennies from like overall 30. all but those two 3.0-3.1 but those two 3.4 & 3.3 ( I have one decimal scale. It thicker planchet, wizibly "taller" that others. It how I found out, they felt heavy when picked up and looked more thicker, so I weighted and re-weighted a few times.
With a one decimal point scale the 3.3 could be as little as .01 grams overweight and the 3.4 could be anywhere from .11 to .2 grams overweight. Neither one is far enough off to command a premium value. On your one point scale you would need to see a 3.7 before there would be much interest.
