Can anyone tell me if these 3 Canadian pennies have a blunt or pointed "5" And are they small or large beads? Thanks in advance Geod
Go to this link: http://www.coinsandcanada.com/coins-prices.php click on the 1965 cent. Then, you can click on the sharp and blunt varieties and there will be photos and explanations.
Wow, that is an awesome link. I find Canadians all the time, had no idea that there were a couple that command decent prices like the 2006-P non steel variety.
scottishmoney Yes, there are some modernish Canadians with valuable varieties. Take a look at the 1965 nickel. $500- $1000. 1996 nickel with "attached" 6. 1955 cent NSF.
Guess I will get my Canadian coins and paper out..LOL I am a newbie but have learned so much from the guys on here....Patience, think before you assume, details, details, details,: the peace that hunting for that special coin brings...Don't get too excited because it probably "ain't" what you think. I am having fun, fun, fun with this and have made a few good finds but first I have to read all the books I've bought, place my coins in holders and folders and decide what paper besides foreign I am going to do. Right now I'm off to buy some more rolls..Happy Easter Monday!!!!
Does anyone know if they have quit making the Canadian penny? or other small Canadian Coins? I used to go there frequently and understood they were going to d/c the smaller coins.
The cent was last minted ca. May of 2012 and shipped shortly thereafter. Since then prices have been rounded up or down and cents are largely out of circulation in Canada. Probably more circulating in the USA now.
I believe they discontinued those. I have quite a bit of Canadian also..the last one cent I have is 1990.
The paper one dollar and two dollar bills were discontinued in 1989 & 1996 respectively. They were replaced with one and two dollar coins. My post was in reference to the currency being used for the dollar values on the website, which is the Canadian Dollar. The Canadian dollar ($1 CAD) is worth approximately $0.74 USD. Sorry for the confusion.
No Problem. I understood. I have a few friends in Canada and keep up with the value as I still visit there. I have loonie's and toonie's and quite a few pennies. one from 1942 and various up to 1990. What is special about 1965? or is it just to complete your collection? I haven't found that one yet but I have loads of change I haven't gotten to yet.
Hi SharonG The 1965 Canadian pennies 2 different "5"s one blunt and one pointed, And the beads are either large or small. In my first post I could not tell which ones I have
and the really special thing about 1965 @SharonG is I was born!! Sorry for hijacking your thread @Geod but I noticed Rick answered your questions.
