1965 1 cent Canada/ Queen Elizabeth II with spade next to head

    Hi all, I have not seen this ever it’s a Spade carved into the coin next to the Queen Elizabeth head anybody have any Ideas?

    It's an after market punch, it is just damage. No added value, still worth 1 cent.

    Thank you very much I’m pretty excited about the coin world and to see what others have collected! I have been doing some research on that coin and did not come across any marks like that. Appreciate the information.

    Just someone with too much time on their hands.
    You can find Lincoln cents with states punched in them same spot.
    They are sold as novelties.

    I have one of those after mint punch
