1964 nickle (gold plated?) No mint

    I found this 1964 nickle with no mint. But it looks to be gold plated or something I can't find information on it anywhere I looked. What up with this?

    Can't tell from the image, but if it is gold plated it is worth 5 cents.

    I figured I just thought it was cool. I've never seen a nickle that wasn't silver

    It could just have gold toning, it is pretty common on Jefferson Nickels. For example:

    I'd keep it. It's only costing a nickel to remove it from circulation.
    I have a gold plated quarter which technically is only worth a quarter, but they do sell for 50 or 75 cents.
