I just shot some picture of this 1995 penny I have and was wondering if it qualifies as a 1955 DDO. If yes, or no, what do you think it is worth. I am definitely interested in anyone's thoughts. Thanks...

Sorry, it is NOT a true DDO. It is loosely known as the "Poor mans Double Die" Not a true doubleD die. Value is only a couple cents but unfortunately I have seen them sell on Ebay for a couple bucks.

nice coin, the extra 5 really stands out. the cent looks au. should be worth a few dollars :thumb:

Really?? Even in MS-65 it's only worth .80. Not worth "a few bucks" Just my opinion but maybe a little reading/research before you give prices may be suggested.

First advice is the 1955-P DDO-001 is called a doubled die not double die. Second a true doubled die does not qualify, it either is or is not that die - there is no in between or doubt.
Your coin is an example of a normal struck 1955-P. It may have minor doubling of the last "5" in the date - these are normal for the type as many were struck with very worn dies.

Value in gem BU is a dollar or two, maybe a little more if a gem.

Thanks so much for the answers. That is why I put it up there. It appears I will remain a poor man for now!
