I found a 1946 canadian penny that appears to be flawed. The bottom section of the "E" in the word cent is filled in as if the die was chipped.has anyone else ever seen this?
Until you post a pic, no. Welcome to coin talk. Many here are willing to help you, but without pictures, they can't.
Looks to me like it was caused by a chipped die. Probably no premium, but wait for others to help with this, too.
TYVM for your input. I don't expect this coin to be worth a fortune, but i found it interesting. I have worked in the jewelry industry for 15 yrs.,so i have a keen eye for detail. After viewing it through a 7x loupe i could tell that the extra stock on the "E" hadn't been added or "raised from the background". I didn't know if there were alot of them that made it into circulation or just a few. Again, thanks for your input.
A minor variety, classified by Hans Zoell as P69o. There is a slight premium on this coin if in grades EF or better.
I found a 1946 canadian penny it looks different the one looks like a 7 and theres something on left side of rim on the coin beside leaf. Just wondered if it could be worth any more than its value. I found it interesting
@paddyman98 what's your take on the picture three or four posts above. The rim looks like it's a die break but I never seen this, figured you might know.
Who told you that? It really doesn't look like damage lol. How can damage make a copy and leave behind a copy...? I'm not experienced enough to make a good answer. Maybe I'd believe it's damaged if the right person says it is lol
@Tracy Cline I think it might be a lamination error. I found another one like it in a later year that looks so much like yours.
