There's no way to give an opinion without a little further information. What does it weigh, and does it stick to a mangnet?
here is a way to tell, take a magnet to it. put a cloth between the magnet and coin just in case it may be real
1943 steel penny, can stick to a magnet, and they weigh decidedly less than their copper counterparts, at 2.70 grams versus 3.11 grams. I'd compare the weight to another wheat cent in the same condition and a steel cent since your scale might be off.
It is fake. The 3 is wrong, the tail on the 4 is too long, the wheats are rounded on their tops, among other things.
Could all that be due to the dirt, wear, and the fact that the steel is really clean the light could shine on it differently? Just thoughts here. This is the first one I have ever found. SO a bit awe struck here..
That is not an altered anything. It is 100% counterfeit everything. Both the weight and the wheats show that the slug was never any coin.
