I can not find any info about my coin :( it is 3.1 grams it looks like silver and it is magnetic. 1 cent penny before I waste time uploading pictures I want to know if you people think it is worth anything?

It is probably nickel-plated. Pure nickel plating is attracted to a magnet.

it is exactly 3.10 I compared it to other nickel plated coins and it does not stick to the magnet but this penny does? actually this is the only coin in my collection that sticks to a magnet! I will put up pictures soon

    First, Welcome to Cointalk.

Please post nice full images of your Cent. Front and back. Try showing it sticking to a magnet also.

My question.. Is it a US CENT you are referring too?

Your Cent looks plated to me. It could of been plated recently. Just because it's from 1939 doesn't mean that it was minted like that back then.

Sure... The Cent started as an underweight Cent then the plating added the extra weight to make it weigh as is.
I have seen it happen before ;)

No need to do send video. I believe you. I just don't think it's an off metal.
I have a Cent that was specially plated that sticks to a magnet just like yours. I purchased it at a magic shop, it is used to do special magic tricks.

And I started to collect Mint Errors 31 years ago. I have seen them all, errors and non errors. Even perfectly plated coins!

It is plated. There are spots along the rim where the plating is chipped off showing the copper underneath.

ok lets say it is plated by who and why it is magnetic? and why there is no history of it I have been searching for a couple years I can not find any information on it. I might even send it to pcgs. I just asking you people if you ever heard of this description. 1939 Lincoln cent. it is magnetic and has a nice bright shiny silver color to it. has no mint mark. weight 3.1 grams
