I was going through some loose change today and I found the aforementioned penny, I was wondering, how much could it be worth?
Circulated? Maybe 5 cents. If it does not have a mint mark it's from Philadelphia. The Philadelphia mint never used a mint mark on Lincoln Cents.
The 1922 is the one you want to find without a mintmark. That year they were only minted in Denver, therefore carrying the "D" mark, and if you find one lacking said "D", it could be worth pretty big $$ Unfortunately the one you mentioned is not particularly worth much except as said above. Basically if it is in so-so condition its only value comes from its age, which is not much.
Well thanks for the help. I also have found a coin which I believe has two Lincoln heads printed on one side, or rather an outline of a second head. How much could this be worth?
Is the second head Kennedy by chance? I'll wager your cent was counterstruck with the head of Kennedy like many, many others discussed on CoinTalk.
Like a few of the other folks have mentioned , if it is a regular circulated 1935-P ( otherwise known as PLAIN because there is no Mint Mark ) , it would be worth 15cents according to the RedBook value. However there was a DOUBLED-DIE OBVERSE variety for that year. The "Cherrypicker's Guide" says that this variety is extremely scarce and is valued at $10.00 in Very Fine grade. Happy Hunting
Definitely worth something, but how much depends on condition. If they are average circulated they are most likely worth 2 or 3 cents each. Higher grade would be worth a little more.
