Hi all, I have been a frequent reader here for a while, haven't posted anything before. But I am a casual collector that favors Wheat Cents and Jeff Nickels. Every payday, I go to my local coin shop and purchase 10 rolls of wheaties. Now, the dealer is very fair at 2/roll and I am fairly certain he does not go through them (as I've found multiple Indians) but anyway, going through my latest batch I noticed this one right away. It is a 1935-S with an RPM (at least thats what it looks like to me). So my question to you all is this: is this an RPM, OMM or what? Are there other examples of this happening? I just did a quick google search for 1935-s rpm penny but didn't find anything. I have taken the best photo's that I can, as I do not have a real camera, just a phone camera and a loupe. Any replies and any help will be much appreciated.
Sorr but your photos are not good enough for me to tell much. Can you post better photos? Your photos are not quite in focus. It would help if you took the photos straight-on rather than at an angle. I can't tell if the coin is in a flip or if you are shooting through a loupe but something appears to be between the camera and the coin and seems to be causing some distortion.
What Hobo said with the exception of the comment about the loupe. You did mention that you used one for magnification. The technology in the cell phones today is simply amazing, but unfortunately, they can't make everyone Ansel Adams. Chris
Yes it is a phone camera (8 megapixels I think) going through a loupe. I kind of took those in a hurry. I will try and see if I can get clearer ones, if not I will borrow a camera haha. Thanks for the quick replies, I will do my best to get back to you all asap
