I bought this note a while ago and i was woundering if any one knows the value of this note. it is VF condition. it is known as one of the furthest off rare center bills known without showing part of another bill caused by being a corner note.look at the pictures. let me know if you know the value of the bill. i might sell this note. http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc245/mjb1hab/?action=view¤t=scan0001-1.jpg http://s219.photobucket.com/albums/cc245/mjb1hab/?action=view¤t=scan0002-1.jpg
I sent him a PM (lewminator). He also has a web site you can visit. Go under his community profile or just google his user name and you will get there. Hope he can help give you an estimate. Best Regards ~ Darryl
Mike, this is just my opinion. I would say that your banknote has a faulty alignment in the moderate range. My guess of the price of your note in VF condition would be about $250.00. Darryl's friend will be able to give you more or better info. Lou
US Paper Money Errors cat & price guide (3rd ed) put a 1995 $1 with major faulty alignment in EF @ $1260 in F @ $500. Not sure how close to reality that is.
dont find alot of paper errors flaoting around ... at least, not like coins. Not many collectors of them either .... i am sure if there were alot more errors, and hence more collextors, prices might climb even higher....
hi mikey, i don't get over to coin-talk too often i saw your scans, the technical term for your error is a faulty allignment of the 1st print to the degree of moderate. the note itself is a 1935D wide reverse. while your error does not show the area of the back design used to determine wide/narrow design, the back plate # of 4999 is from the wide reverse range. the grade appears to be extra fine, possibly about uncirculated and is on a common block for the series(Z/F block). my estimate of value would be somewhere in the $300.00 to $375.00 at a heritage or lyn knight auction with full retail being in the $450. range, maybe a bit more to a collector specifically of cutting errors or silver certificate errors. i hope this is helpful to you, congrats on your error! lew A.K.A. How will you be selling it ? A straight sale, or auction ? You may get more for the note through auction, especially if you have several bidders that really like it and bid the price up.
Mikey, Your best bet would be to go through Heritage for the greatest possible outcome. Error note collectors such as myself check their Internet acutions every week for the newest and best.
Should i send the note to a company to get graded? Would that help get more money for it? Do you have to pay Heritage to auction the note off? How do i get paid from the winner? Thanks
