No mint mark usually means Philly, but does that apply here too? I mean, don't know
if Philly was even up and running in 1929...

The Philadelphia mint is the oldest US mint. It was even old in 1929. That coin was minted in Philly.

I don't know, it could be a greased die, minted in Carson City, check for a small CC mintmark

If this is an error, it's pretty common. Like really common.

I have said this before and I'll say it again. What are you SmokinJoe? You do realise that this year is the 225 year anniversary of the Philadelphia mint right? That is why the cent has a mint mark on it for the first time this year and only this year. I'm just kidding with you Joe so don't take it too seriously.;)

how much is it worth ?

pictures speak a thousand words. you're up to 18 words.
Start your own thread with pictures of the Complete, in-focus, front and rear of the coin then we'd be better able to help.

Best if you start your own thread.
But if there is no MintMark below the Year then that *is* the identifier.
The Philadelphia mint at one time use to be the *only* mint for the longest time. So there was *no need* to have a mint mark, at all. So there wasn't. It wasn't until other Mints started making coins and using a Mint Mark to identify where those one's were being made, versus Philadelphia which didn't need one because everyone knew where those were being made.

So here's info on you Philadelphia (lack of Mint mark) 1929 penny

compared to a Denver made cent which does have a "D" mint mark below the date.
