I have a few error coins I have come across some I know the proper verbiage and many others I don’t. So if I may I was going to post a couple and I know the guys on this website can tell me easily i’ve watched it for a long time and I have yet to see the long timers in this room gets stumped and I will post each coin separately also because I think that’s the way I’m supposed to thank you before hand for any input you could give me. The first is at 1923 piece dollar and it seems there’s a mint mark behind the mint mark post a couple pictures. Thanks again

Post mint damage to the s on the 23. The other pics are a coin that was struck by grease filled dies.

The mint mark is damaged and there is no additional number in the date.

Does that distorted mint mark look like something the US Mint would put on a coin?

Maybe not, but then again, you’d have to have looked at lots of coins to know that. Be nice and cut the fella some slack. It was a fair question. The S is funky lookin’.

    Welcome, @BrianinND.

The mint mark is damaged. Not a mint error. Common date so only worth its value from silver content.
