Ok everyone I was bad and went on ebay to see what they had the 1919 penny going for. I should of known better because it upsets me when I see what they want. I looked on the internet and did not see anything special going on the date. I am keeping the coin but am I missing something. 1919 penny obverse.jpg 1919 penny obverse.jpg 1919 penny reverse.jpg

1919 is one of the most readily found wheat cent.

My LCS sells a 1919 Lincoln Cent in this condition for $.25 each. A dollar more tops for it being a MAD as that’s what yours looks like.

It is a very high mintage for the time frame. :)

I thought it was a MAD coin which is scary I understand that lol. I just wanted to make sure I was not missing anything for that year. I need to stop going to EBAY, my coin looked better than most of them on there.

    Smart. ;)
Also, you have to look at coins sold not just what their asking for it. :)
    Refer to your Redbook. ;)
Stay away from Etsy scams also. :vomit:

eBay and ESTY are terrible places to go for coins. Your coin is a slight MAD but not worth much of a premium.

I think many collectors have been keeping all wheat back cents for a few years now. Just like the Indian Head cent, they will become worth $$ in the future. How long into the future? Who knows? All I know is that they don't make them anymore.

My LCS is now paying $.03 for them. That’s double what they were paying.

Is that because of the copper content?

No, he can’t get enough to meet the demand for selling them. People buy them by the pound and search them. I sell my extra Wheats for $4.50 a roll in my antique shop.

I took most of mine and included them in more than 20 ancestral type sets for my grandkids. I still have a few hundred left.

Kinda thought you did that. I have over 5000 so I just sell in the shop. I do have another folder that I could start but I’m trying to finish the one I have now. I’m getting close.
