So are these nickels worth anything or is there something special about these? Just going through grandmas coins she saved came across this one 20210904_110726-0.jpg 20210904_110706-0.jpg

If it had a D or an S especially then that would be something.Your 1912 is very common with 25-30 million made.

Worn and damaged, but still worth keeping, in my opinion!

Not really worth much, but I would definitely keep it.

The liberty head nickels without the "cents" (1883) might be worth something, if it was in better shape than this nickel.

From what I've seen, a no-cents 1883 is likely to be in much better shape than later dates in the series, just because so many of them were set aside. If you want an XF or AU example for a type set, it'll cost you maybe one-third the price of a later date.

It wore very nicely. Too bad it doesn’t have a mint mark so it’s a common date. I think it’s a keeper.

Actually the opposite is true. The 1883s WITH "cents" are more valuable because few were saved. This is true in all grades. The ones without the word "cents" were saved in great quantities even though there were a lot fewer minted, because they were a novelty once the word got out about the controversy surrounding them.

Very true! The 1883 no cents is one of the most affordable of the early V nickels. Of course there are some key dates that are quite valuable, 1885, 1886 1912-S come to mind.
