1907 penny error. Help is this worth getting graded?? Does anyone know about this? Looks like another small 7 next to the 7. I know some were restruck. I have a big collection and just starting to sell.
@Kathleen Baker-Short …don’t get your hopes up too high yet, several things you need know. The face (nose, cheek, forehead) is severely battered, from what I see. The Yeoman Red Book mentions full and partial letters of liberty in their grading guide, check that. 1907 is a fairly common date, I think, so run down all these variables to confirm to yourself the condition it is before you try to sell. And give us a close-up of the date, please, and the headband/LIBERTY to see if we can be of further assistance…imo…Spark
Over 108 million were struck, the highest mintage of any IHC date. If you were to say the grade was EF40 (XF40 is the same thing), then USA Coin Book lists it for $11.00…trying to sell for that is another animal. A buyer will want a discount for the facial damage…imo…Spark
I saw a valuation of $11 above, so I have to speak up. I don't think this could would have a price tag of more than a $2 given the damage in the key areas.
