Recently bought this and just received it, I scanned for what seemed like the right date placement and I noticed that there was a dip in the length of the denticles in the proper location for the die cud when I saw it. I think I see the 7 underneath the 8, but I can't tell if I've just been staring at it too long. Also appears to have the line coming from the top of the 8. Interested to hear what you all think! 1888full.jpg 1888date.png 1888date3.png 1888cud.jpg

I’ll try again a little later. I’m using a cellphone camera with a 30x loupe, might be about time to order a USB microscope

The telltale to this overdate is a cud that is small but along the rim by the E in UNITED will be over 1/2 of the 4-5 dent Ickes in the word UNITED. There is a less prominent variety but is valued much less than the one with the cud. From your photos I can only see wear on the denticles. I believe you have the 8/7 overdate but the less prominent one.

Ah, thank you for the help. I believe it is a snow 2, if you look in the upper loop of the final 8 seems to have one of the telltale signs. I need to start properly leveling IHCs for date placement before buying, but a snow 2 is almost as good as a true overdate.

    Edit: maybe snow 14?

Any idea if this would grade straight or details? Not the best at spotting cleaning yet.

Not sure about IHC on grading.
