The photos are not the best and I do not have any of the other specs. Just based on these photos, Im curious if anything appears off to you? It seems ok to me and I will be able to provide better photos once in hand.
normally I like when people point out specific reasons a coin is fake but this is an instant one glance clear cut fake one. Good luck getting your money back
Completely fake. Here's why: Mushy details. Grainy surface. Double rim around the edge of the coin. Date and mint mark look off. I sincerely hope you didn't pay for this. If so, try to get your money back quickly.
As soon as you get it in hand send it back for a refund. Were you really the winner of this auction? $700 is the first clue that it's a fake.
@ilmcoins , I'm really surprised at how often people spend hundreds even thousands of dollars on coins that they're not sure about. If you did it for your collection, then you need to learn the series better and educate yourself. If you did it for a quick flip or to make money, then I have to tell you, this is not the way to do it. Get some reference books, learn your coins, study, and stop trying to hit homeruns. A solid single or double should be your goal.
Many problems with the back, including the fact that the Carson City mintmark would have to be thicker: it would never be that thin.
Since I'm not that experienced, would you kindly point out the counterfeit diagnostics. Thank you for your help.
I'll invite you to do the work yourself. Compare this coin to certified examples on eBay and Heritage.com. It won't take long to see all the differences.
