This looks like a good example of Longacre's Doubling I want to share this webpage with you - http://www.error-ref.com/longacre-s-doubling/
Have that book do not see a Listing for a DDO in that year, also, I have my Dad's from early 70's not in that Red-Book either, im asking, i dont see it, so that is why i proposed that question. sorry to bother
I know you are the man, you know all varieties, and etc, go grab a red book from 30 yrs ago, there is not half of what is in the red book now, !!! So for you to say there is none they dont exsist,,Think again
I would never buy a coin from anyone that would call a Cent.. Penny's The plural of Cent is Cents and the plural of Penny is Pennies! That's actually a good clue that the person knows nothing about Doubled Dies Also.. it is Doubled Die.. Not Double Die
No, I'm not the man. Rick Snow is and he wrote the book on IHCs. Actually several books. He does not list the coin and the Cherrypickers Guide does not as well. Please follow the link that paddyman98 gave you above. It will answer your questions about Longacre doubling. It's very common with Indian Head Cents. You got a good deal at $4.75. I would grade it AU but it has been cleaned. Still a nice coin.
