    Hey everyone! :D

Just picked this up today, and I think it is really neat. I know die cracks in these are common, but this one has a lot! All comments are welcome! :)

cool coin! I have one somewhere that's all crackly, if I win a macro lens on ebay I'll take some photos.

Nice coin Ryan. Love shield nickels. I have bought several just because of the cracks. Here are a couple of snaps from my microscope. There are actually more than that around the perimeter.

I love the look of the die cracks. :thumb:
I have a friend that is all about shield nickels, I'm sure he would love those coins.

I think that the top one circled in the picture may be a die clash.

    Yes!!!
Coins with die cracks to me are coins with extra personality.
Here's one of my Shield Nickels.
The crack goes all the way around, but in some places significant separation hasn't occurred yet, so the cracks don't show.

If you like die cracks, the shield nickels are the series for you. Sometimes I think it's harder to find an example without cracks.

Cool coin, Ryan, and thanks for sharing!

Shield nickel varieties, in general, are great to look at. I have several in my collection as well, including this shattered obverse. I would be interested in seeing these coins and photographing them for possible inclusion in the 2nd edition of my Shield Nickel reference. Especially yours Mark h. Yours looks like a repunched date too.

I'm fairly sure it IS harder to find them with no cracks.

Well I think my new one does not have any cracks - at least I can not see any in the auction pictures, but it will have to wait until I get it to take some pictures. No hints Ryan or Toad - I want to get my own pictures. :)

Nope that is two die cracks coming together at the top of the cross with the lower one then going through the left arm to the top leaf cluster and probably following the lower edge ofthe center leaf. There is nothing on the reverse at that location that would make a clash like that.
