Just got $10 OREGON EXCHANGE COMPANY COIN. Anyone have a suggestion to check it actual value? thanks very much for the help
Welcome to CoinTalk, thumper. You really only need to post your question once. You will get an answer.
sorry, but I hope that you did not spend a lot on that piece. Check it closely, it should be gold, this is probably brass plated lead. And, welcome to the forum.
Like the others said a lot of the private gold issued has been heavily coppied & counterfieted , hope I'm wrong . yours looks like a copy of the Oregon Exchange Co. it should be dated 1849 . It's very unigue . rzage Should of read the name of the thread 1st .
Hi, It's a copy...even with the poor picture it is easy to tell by the positions of the lettering...You can compare it to the picture in the "Red Book" . The 2008 edition has it on pg. 364. On a real one, the C of COMPANY almost touches the lettering on the line under the word EXCHANGE. Also the N of OREGON on a real one is higher and does not line up with the third line of lettering as on your coin. Thanks, Bill
Howdy, I've been up to my eyeballs in doing a bunch of photos and code writing to update my websites soon. It's gonna have a whole new look and it's gonna have a bunch more to look at. It's just been real hectic working on other things too. My twenty-five parrots keep me busy as well. It's been tough trying to be everywhere at once Good to be in here though, Bill
Hi I’m not really i coin collector but I think I have found a real Oregon Exchange Company $10 coin can you help me out and tell me how to tell if its real or not
1. Start a new thread. This one is over 10 years old, and people don't often check old threads. 2. We really can't help you at all without decent pictures. Your phone should be able to take pictures well enough for us to see what you have.
Definitely post some pictures, but keep in mind there are about 17 known genuine and thousands of replicas.
