Quarter 1947-1964 = 6.250 g +/- 0.194 g (900 Ag 100 Cu) Weight of Clad quarter 1965 – to present = 5.670 g +/- 0.227 g (75 Cu, 25 Ni on pure Cu) (1976 = 5.750 g +/- 0.200 g - 40% silver clad) Weight of 1999 Quarter Experimental Planchet: 5.9 g up to 6.3 g.
The the weight range for a clad quarter including tolerance is 5.443 grams to 5.897 grams. Your coin is well within that range.
I have a bicentennial quarter that weighs 6.45 I believe and it doesn't show any copper. Would it be pure silver or silver clad.
It is very slightly out of tolerance so technically it is an error (rolled thick planchet) but the amount out of tolerance is so small that there would most likely be no premium value.
i found a 1972 quarter with almost exact hole bites?? mine is a 1967. are these nipple bite mint errors?
If the coin in question is your profile picture thats %100 damage not a mint error and a spender to me.
I'm confused.. You found a 1972 Quarter from 1967? That doesn't make any sense And no.. They are not mint errors.
