They probably took orders for the entire 50K. Now they have to go through to confirm addresses and CC validity. Orders that they cancel will be put back up for sale at another time. Be sure to leave it in your wish list. No guarantee, but it might put you higher on the list for purchase of cancellations.
Its not sold out yet, just backordered which means still available, you just get yours on the next round. It usually goes unavailable once its sold out.
I have 13 different addresses I could use (6 houses, 1 business, and two apartment buildings), but I don't buy modern mint stuff. Almost an hour now and no reports of a sell out.
Do you have something against making a profit? Who cares if you don't collect moderns... make some easy money, and put it towards what you like.
I have 1 as "PROCESSING" and 1 as "ON HOLD"? The one processing was done 0353XXXX, the one on hold is 0354XXXX. Assume that means my 2nd order is donezo..... Maybe.
Order Acknowledgment Dear Cooper, We are currently processing your recent catalog.usmint.gov order. You should receive a confirmation E-mail in the next 24 hours with more details. I hope my acknowledgment says their on the way?
I don't see how 50K could and or would sell. That is what everyone here was chatting about on the high relief. A report of 36K sold in the first couple of hours and it would be sold out in 2 days. Here it is over a month later and the last 14K haven't sold ??? I doubt it, which means the report of 36K selling in the first couple hours was a lie. A lie to entice more buyers and create an artificial market. With 50K, it is not as important as a 17K listing, even if it is Kennedy. I see this happening everyday with stocks and on the Yahoo forums. Many people are paid shrills and do it for a living. Pump n dump is what they call it. Wondering how much of that may be happening here. You can always tell by responses to the posts. Post something that is true and verses the sellers benefit, and they blast you for it. Call you a short seller (stock market lingo)...
Huge difference in this and the HR gold. Mainly..... price. Not many can afford a $1,500 coin, but plenty can afford this coin, or even multiples of it. It will sell out.
On the back order stuff - As someone already wrote, that doesn't mean or mean even close to selling out. As we learned with the high relief. As a business, the MINT can only process so many shipments per day, do they work Saturdays ? Maybe after a release of importance. How many labels and packages can 5 - 25 people process in a day ? i am sure they are highly automated. But at some point, 3K - 5K per day ?, even that is a lot of work, you have to start showing as back order for the processing time.
You're comparing apples & oranges. 50k for an expensive one oz gold coin is a high mintage - 50k for low cost president dollar is a low mintage - granted not as low as 17,000, but still low.
I have considered that and it makes sense. Still, not 17K and in the end, will it be harder to get your hands on a Eisenhower or a Kennedy... I get it, the price thing and yes, sell out, great. But if we get a report that 40K are sold are we to believe it ? Ya can't... Do you guys actually think that 36K of the gold sold in 3 hours and the other 14K haven't sold in the last 6 weeks ? Just for sake of argument ..
I suspect that a lot of flippers are watching the Mint site closely, and might cancel their order(s) if they don't see a quick sellout. The real losers could be the big boys who were offering individuals ("their best customers") buy-on-our-behalf deals with a small ($40 - $60) premium to get around the 2 set limit...hope they're stuck with boatloads of un-flipables.
