As many of you are now returning from the ANA show in Chicago I thought it would be good to talk about the next great coin show on the list. The national battlefield coin show. For me this will be the first coin show that I'll be attending outside of a local coin club show that has like 5 dealers. Admission and parking is FREE and it will be held at the Eisenhower Hotel from September 20th-21st. Any dealers looking to get tables if you haven't already the price is upwards of $275. I'll be there to walk around and buy a few nice coins and hopefully to meet some of you. Who is planning on attending the show? Here is a key part of the show directly from their website http://www.battlefieldcoinshow.com/ Battlefield Coin Shows™ is overjoyed to have Michael Bean, retired plate printer from the Bureau of Engraving and Printing being a part of the inaugural show in Gettysburg, PA on September 20th and 21st. Mike will be demonstrating how currency was made via intaglio printing on a 19th century spider press. Mike will be producing a special intaglio inaugural print for sale to the public. Mike will have a free raffle for 100 limited edition engraved prints offered to those attending the show.
Hey hey, I met Michael Bean at this last CSNS show! He and a buddy seemed thrilled that I stopped by their booth and was remotely interested in what they were doing ... which made me sad because they actually had a really cool set up. I even took pics of him and one of the goodies he gave me! He was incredibly nice -- @jaceravone, I charge you with saying hello to him for me! (if he remembers me, haha)
Heck, the history involved with the place is worth the trip alone. Marking it on my calender Josh. Would love a chance to meet Coinzip (Alan) and Joe (Jaceravone) but more than that I'd love to see the spot where Joshua Chamberlains brigade turned back the southern onslaught........
All thanks to the sharps rifle. Hope to see you there Green. I'll bring that Lindbergh commemorative with me. Speaking of commemoratives are you all over the hof and kennedy commemoratives?
I have been a Civil War buff for as long as I have collected coins, about 45 years now. Gettysburg has always been a special place to me, first trip there was in 1973 and have been going almost yearly for twenty years. It is my one and only yearly get away after a long summer of non stop work. By coincidence, the coin show falls during my trip, but I am still not sure if I will go and cut into my "Gettysburg time". Will most likely try to stop in for an hour or so though. Sorry, I gotta make a couple corrections though, Chamberlain only led a regiment, not a brigade and Chamberlain's men were armed with Enfield rifle muskets, no Sharps rifles! Great place, and I hope everyone going to the show will take a little time to tour the battlefield and try Tommy's Pizza on Steinwehr Ave.!

What is so great about this tommy's pizza? I'd like to hear everything you have to share about gettysburg.
@Amanda Varner Do you know if anything else is going on at this show? You spoke with Michael Bean at the show. Did he mention anything else other than the engraving that he is doing at the show?
